Associate Attorney Megan Kau brings an unusual skill set to apply to our clients. She is both a CPA (nonpracticing; license inactive) and a trial lawyer with approximately 40 criminal and civil jury trials in Hawai`i. In addition, Ms. Kau has completed over one hundred bench trials. She uses her trial experience to benefit her clients and to teach other Hawai`i attorneys the rules of evidence in continuing legal education seminars.
Ms. Kau’s practice includes both select criminal defense matters and civil litigation and counselling, in the area of business, real property, and construction disputes, personal injury claims, and select administrative hearings.
Ms. Kau is a graduate of the University of Hawai`i at Manoa and received her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. Ms. Kau later served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the City and County of Honolulu. Ms. Kau is a member of the Hawai`i State Bar Association and the State Bar of California. She is admitted to practice before all Hawai`i circuit and appellate courts and the United States District Court for the District of Hawai`i.
